I want to describe an app I use almost every day called NavVille. It's a transport and local-info app made by a small company in my city; it combines maps, real-time public transport data and crowd-sourced alerts about roadworks or closures. I first came across it when a colleague recommended it after I missed a bus because of a sudden diversion. Since then it's become my go-to tool. What I like most about it is the real-time updates — for example, last month it told me a tram line was suspended and suggested an alternate bus route that got me to work on time. I also use its offline maps and timetables when I'm travelling to areas with poor reception. The app lets you save favourite routes, set reminders for departure times and even shows step-by-step cycling directions, which I find handy. It's saved me a lot of time and reduced stress during commutes because I no longer have to stand at stops guessing when the next service will arrive. To be honest, I also appreciate the local tips from other users — small things like which elevators are working at a station or which entrances are closed. Overall, NavVille makes everyday travel easier and more reliable, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to feel more in control of their journeys.
